Mole Removal

There are different techniques for surgical mole removal including Curettage, Shave or Full Excision. The method of removal used will depend on the shape, size and type of the mole.

Should there be a suspicion of Skin Cancer, a Biopsy will be taken and the specimen sent away for Histology testing to offer further clarity. All information will be recorded on your confidential medical notes and subsequent bi-annual or annual skin screening appointments will be offered.

Keloid Removal
A Keloid is an Abnormal Bulky Scar that grows beyond the boundaries of the original scar. When the skin is broken – for example, from a cut, bite, scratch, burn, acne or piercing – the body produces a certain amount of protein called collagen which should stop producing once the wound is sealed. Occasionally this production of collagen doesn't stop and scars continue growing and can become bigger than the original wound.
The exact cause of a keloid is not fully understood. They tend to be more common in people with dark skin and it is thought they may be hereditary. The common areas are on the chest, shoulders, earlobes, but they can occur anywhere on the body. A typical keloid is raised, hard, shiny, hairless, and red or purple at the beginning, after which it can become brown. Sometimes the keloid can cause tenderness, itchiness and disfigurement. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this condition, however, we can make these scars flatter and relieve the itchiness by using steroid injections. If they are big, we can remove them surgically and inject steroids on site at the same time.

Eyelid Surgery
Eyes are the first features we notice on someone’s face. With time, signs of ageing begin to appear first around the eyes. This is because the eyelid skin is the thinnest skin in our body. Over time, the skin stretches and can become saggy, resulting in droopy and puffy eyelids. This can give the impression of being tired, sad or angry. Saggy/droopy eyelids can also cause visual disturbances.
Eyelid surgery, also known as Blepharoplasty, is a procedure that removes this skin excess and parts of the fat pads which are responsible for the "puffy" effect (commonly known as bags). The procedure improves the appearance of your eyelids, achieving a more refreshed and youthful look. Removal of the obstructive hanging skin can also lead to the improvement of the visual field.
